Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President is the chief student affairs officer and a member of the President’s Cabinet. The VP, EMSS oversees programs and services related to creating a campus climate that promotes the academic achievement, student success and personal development of all students and fosters collaborative relationships among students, faculty and staff.

VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

As the front door to higher education in Ohio, Columbus State Community College seeks an experienced strategic and visionary leader to further advance the institution’s mission and partnerships as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Reporting directly to the President, the VP, M&C is the chief marketing, communications and public relations officer for the college, and a member of the President’s Cabinet. This position leads and manages the college's marketing functions, internal and external communications, media and public relations, community and government relations, special events and publications production and creative writing functions.

DIRECTOR OF GATEWAY OPERATIONS

The Director of Gateway Operations supervises and oversees office planning, organization, coordination and reporting of operations and student services for admissions, retention, academic advising, access, registration and records. The position is responsible for maintaining consistency in policy and practice and for ensuring the employment of proven principles of excellent customer service in enrollment management. The position reports directly to the Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the President and works closely with senior management and the Gateway management team to develop and implement strategies that will achieve the College’s qualitative and quantitative enrollment and retention goals.

Serves as chief student affairs officer for Central Ohio Technical College and The Ohio State University at Newark; provides leadership and establishes direction and advocacy for the numerous student affairs units.

ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT CHAIR, BUSINESS

The chair provides leadership to the Business department within the School of Business, Information and Health Support Technologies.  Leadership includes ensuring that the curriculum is relevant, current and of high quality, student learning is assessed annually, programs are reviewed every three years, and semester schedules are developed to meet the needs of students while ensuring optimal use of college resources.  Additionally, the chair will recruit, hire and evaluate qualified faculty, manage the resources of the department including the accounting learning center, and support the College's recruitment, retention and success initiatives.

DEAN OF BUSINESS AND ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

The Dean of Business and Engineering Technologies is responsible for recruiting, supervising, and evaluating faculty and staff; making recommendations for hiring and terminating as necessary; ensuring quality learning experiences for students through continuous assessment of programs, curriculum, and courses and through periodic evaluation of classroom and laboratory activities; planning, developing, and maintaining annual budgets for areas of responsibility; developing recommendations for and maintaining short- and long-term facilities and equipment plans; developing overseeing the division’s semester academic schedule; analyzing offerings and makes modifications as necessary; maintaining an open-door advising policy to build relationships, communicating information, and solving problems with faculty, staff, students, and colleagues; acts as a liaison between the division and College by participating/taking a leadership role in college committees.  These will include, but not be limited to:  President’s Cabinet, Academic Council, Academic Affairs, Program Advisory committees, and other teams as assigned; planning and directing program operations to include recommendations for program; acts as a College representative in professional organizations and community activities; in collaboration with faculty and public relations staff, developing and maintaining a plan for program promotion; monitoring legislation and academic guidelines and requirements established by accrediting bodies; overseeing accreditation activities for appropriate programs; and acts as a liaison among faculty, students, and employers to establish internship opportunities for educational experiences.

FACULTY | INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

The Industrial Technology Faculty will be responsible for classroom instruction. They will provide leadership in the development, assessment, and evaluation of curriculum in existing courses, new courses, and related programs. They will actively participate in student advising. They will participate in department meetings, college committees, and facilitate industry advisory committees.
